Well one of things Dizzy always talked about was attacks, a lot of trumpet players when they play in the upper register of the horn were not really clear on their attacks you know, they'd either [demonstrates], that kind of thing, but Dizzy and Roy and Louis they all [demonstrates], always bap, so that's one of the things that I started to practice. I mean, I always felt that if you didn't practice somehting, how are you going to play it, so I started practicing attacks in the upper register. Just taking like, Auburn exercises and taking them up an octave but doing something like [demonstrates] until I could go [demonstrates] and on up.
