- Have students bring in copies of African-American publications
and select an article. Have them write a letter to the editor in response
to that article.
- Have students interview each other and write
an article for publication in a classroom tabloid. Assign various students
to edit, design the cover, and produce the publication.
- Get a recent copy of The Crisis, for students to read. Have them compare it to Ebony, Emerge, American Visions, Essence, or Ebony, Jr. magazines.
