Anthony Grafton, “The Scientist as Scholar: Newton
as Historian”

Anthony Grafton is a Professor of History at Princeton University, specializing
in the history of classical scholarship, of Renaissance education, and
of early astronomy. His books include From Humanism to the Humanities,
Forgers and Critics, Defenders of the Text, The Footnote: A Curious History,
and Bring Out Your Dead: The Past as Revelation.
This lecture will
take place in the South Court Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Tickets ($10 for
