Overview | About Library Catalog | About selected databases and e-resources | Internet Access

All reading rooms at the Library for the Performing Arts have free public access computers providing varied use of the library catalog and selected general and specialized databases covering Performing Arts subjects. Some computers on the 1st floor of the Performing Arts Library are designated for Internet access.

Librarians and technical staff are available to assist users with the Library's online catalog and electronic resources.

The Library also offers a free laptop docking service. To connect your laptop to the Library's high-speed Internet connection, follow these instructions.

Library Catalogs

All reading rooms have dedicated computers for accessing the online catalog of the New York Public Library. The catalog can also be used to locate materials to borrow. The catalog is also available from any Internet-accessible computer outside the Library.

Selected Databases and Electronic Resources

All reading rooms provide dedicated computers for searching over 108 databases, electronic full-text journals and newspapers, and other online resources that the Library licences or selects to support the subject and research interests of its users. Most of these resources are licensed for onsite use only. A searchable list of online databases and indexes is now available.

Access to e-resources available in the Branch Libraries is also available in all reading rooms at the Library for the Performing Arts. Many (but not all) of these resources can be accessed from computers outside the library with the use of an NYPL Library Card.

Internet Access

Access to the Internet is available on the first floor of the Library for the Performing Arts at the Lincoln Center Plaza entrance only. See the Library's Policy on Public Use of the Internet.
