The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts > Collections > Music Division Students!Have you thought about doing an internship at the Music Division? We regularly host unpaid internships for a variety of projects, many of which provide improved access to our collections. Based on the intern’s background, interest and ability, we can identify projects that would be rewarding. Potential projects can include: processing archival collections, creating finding aids and guides, assisting with specialized materials acquisitions, and others. Since many of these projects pertain to our archival collections, interns have the chance to gain knowledge and practical experience in dealing with archival processing and management. While working, interns will get an overview of the Music Division’s operations. They are invited to attend staff meetings and observe the broad range of experiences and interactions that are part of the day-to-day operations of a large research library.
