The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts > Collections > Circulating Collections > Orchestra Collection Summer LoanThe Orchestra Collection May 2009 Dear Friends, As the concert season draws to an end, I would like to remind everyone that the Orchestra Collection will be closed during the months of July and August. The last day of service will be Tuesday, June 30th and we will reopen for the new season on Tuesday, September 1st. For those who need to borrow materials over the summer, you may do so beginning June 2nd. A maximum of 10 items may be taken out for summer loan, provided that your account is in good standing. Any material checked out during the month of June will have a due date of September 15th, the third Tuesday that the collection will be open for the 2009/2010 season. You need not wait until then to return your materials, as you may always return any music to the Circulating Music Reference Desk on the second floor. Feel free to ask the librarian for a receipt as proof that it has been returned. You may still place material on reserve up to one month before you plan on checking it out. Holds may be placed either by telephone (212.870.1624) or via e-mail (orchlib@nypl.org). You may wish to browse the Orchestra Collection catalog on our website ahead of time. As most of you may know, many of our city's services and institutions are
facing an incredibly uncertain economic future and the New York Public
Library is no exception. I encourage you to look at this page and
let your elected representatives know how vital this service is to you and
our music community. I hope you have all had a successful and rewarding concert season, and I Cheers, Sean R. Ferguson
