LEO is the catalog of the Circulating Recorded Sound and Moving Image Collection and the Branch Libraries.

Overview:
Material in the circulating sound and video collection consists solely of commercially released items.

Listening Facilities:
Available on a first-come, first-served basis are fourteen listening stations with unlimited listening time. All stations accommodate two listeners each and are capable of playing audiocassettes and compact discs. Please note that in order to listen to compact discs or audiocassettes, patrons must first check them out with a NYPL borrower's card.

In addition to music on CD, we also have:

Audiocassettes: Accent and dialect tapes for actors, and select theatrical plays

Videotapes & DVDs: A range of videos from the following categories:

Music: Opera, Musical Theater, Ballet, Rock, Jazz, Instructional, Biography, and Documentary
Plays: Shakespeare and more.
Feature Films/Movies: An assortment of both American & Foreign films

Dance: Includes Ballet, Performance, Biographies, Instruction & Exercise

The Recorded Sound & Moving Image Circulating Collection does not provide the following:
Books on tape, viewing stations, LPs, speeches on CD, non-performing arts related documentaries.
