Applying for an ACCESS card
To obtain a card, follow these 4 steps.
1. Complete the ACCESS card application form available
online or in paper at information and service desks in the Research Libraries.
2. Present a valid photo ID for verification
of name and address (driver’s license, non-driver’s ID) or photo
ID with name and another piece of identification with name and address at
the ACCESS desk located in each of the four Research
Libraries.
3. Have your photo taken.
4. Sign the ACCESS card, indicating you will abide by all Library policies.
Most researchers will be issued ACCESS cards which are valid for 3 years
and renewable with photo ID. Researchers under 18 must have an interview with
a librarian before receiving an ACCESS card valid for 6 months. School photo
ID is required. Referrals to other libraries may be made if the Research Libraries
do not hold appropriate materials. Temporary ACCESS cards are available for
researchers who cannot produce photo ID. Temporary cards are valid for 3 days.
Temporary cards are NOT renewable.
