|
| 03146: |
#1. John Berryman reading
from The Dream Songs, December 1967. |
| |
|
| 03148: |
#2. John Berryman reading
poems, possibly from The Dream Songs, December, 1967.
Although unidentified, Berryman indicates that some of the poems
were published in The Noble Savage. The tape appears to
have been recorded upon several times, and as a result some of
the recordings appear to be interrupted and incomplete. Some of
the incomplete recordings on this tape can be found on tape #4
in their complete form. |
| |
|
| 03147: |
#3. John Berryman reading
poems, possibly from The Dream Songs, July 1962. A few
minutes of the tape may be difficult to listen to as they contain
two different recordings of Berryman superimposed. The tape also
includes Berryman reading the poem "Meeting and Passing" by
Robert Frost. |
| |
|
| 03149: |
#4. John Berryman reading
from The Dream Songs, November 1967. |
| |
|
| 03150: |
#5. John Berryman discussing
with Ellen Siegelman his travels in India, especially Calcutta.
The tape also contains Berryman reading what he calls "a brilliant
song that [I] once wrote." Recorded at a fast speed, Berryman's
voice sounds unusually high on this tape. |
| |
|
| 03256: |
Brian Patten reading poems
from his book Notes to the Hurrying Man, including "The
Fruitful Lady of Dawn," "You Come to Me Quiet as Rain
Not Yet Fallen," and "Into the Stars Come Dancing." (See
box 471 for correspondence relating to the book.) |
