room 313

This rendering of the Art & Architecture Collection's former location in room 313, by painter and illustrator Roxie Munro, appeared on the cover of The New Yorker Magazine on January 9, 1984. The artist's impressions of other reading rooms - in this library and elsewhere - can be seen in her latest book, The Inside-Outside Book of Libraries, which was written by NYPL's Coordinator of Children's Services, Julie Cummins.
