"Periodically Speaking"

The New York Public Library and The Council for Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP) present "Periodically Speaking," a new reading series providing a major new venue for emerging writers to present their work while highlighting the riches of literary magazines in New York City and the magazine collections of The New York Public Library. Each event focuses on a theme and presents writers from three influential literary magazines, introduced by their publisher/editors.

The Magathon - June 14, 2008
The Library's 6th year hosting this event kicks off a weekend celebration of Literary Magazines. Come hear literary magazine editors read favorite selections from their journals on Saturday afternoon and Sunday head to Housing Works Used Bookstore for the Lit Mag Fair - all magazines 2 bucks ! The themes for the fall series of readings focus on the senses, starting off on October 11th with poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction that address 'seeing' in different and innovative ways. Readings from Literal Latte, Summerset Review and Hanging Loose.

Inner Space - June 14, 2005
Each event focuses on a theme and presents writers from three influential literary magazines, introduced by their publisher/editors.
