"Periodically Speaking"

The New York Public Library and The Council for Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP) present "Periodically Speaking," a new reading series providing a major new venue for emerging writers to present their work while highlighting the riches of literary magazines in New York City and the magazine collections of The New York Public Library. Each event focuses on a theme and presents writers from three influential literary magazines, introduced by their publisher/editors.

Periodically Speaking - June 09, 2009
Periodically Speaking,a new reading series providing a major new venue for emerging writers to present their work while highlighting the riches of literary magazines in New York City and the magazine collections of The New York Public Library. Each event focuses on a theme and presents writers from three influential literary magazines, introduced by their publisher/editors.

The Magathon - May 30, 2009
Hear leading literary magazine editors read favorite selections from their latest issues. Tentative journals participating include: 6x6, AGNI, Alimentum-The Literature of Food, Aufgabe,Bellevue Literary Review, The Dirty Goat, Fence, The Idaho Review,jubilat, Lips, LIT Magazine, The Literary Review, Lumina,Magick Mirror Communications, One Story, The Open Face Sandwich,The Pinch, Raritan, Saltgrass and St. Petersburg Review. This celebration of literary magazines and independent publishing is in its eighth year at the Library !
