Monday Service and Call-Ahead

Monday Service: Most Jewish Division materials (other than rare or fragile items) can be consulted on Mondays 11:00-6:00 in the Rose Main Reading Room on the third floor of the Humanities Library. Jewish Division microforms can be consulted on Mondays in the Microforms Room on the first floor of the Library.

Requests must be submitted in advance, before10:00 a.m. on the Monday on which the book is required.

Requests can be made by email (freidus@nypl.org), telephone (212.930.0601), or in person during the regular business hours of the division.

Call-Ahead: Readers can also "call ahead," via email (freidus@nypl.org) or telephone (212.930.0601), to have materials ready for immediate use in the Jewish Division Reading Room Tuesday-Saturday. Most Jewish Division material is housed at 42nd Street and should be in the reader's hands within five minutes of being requested, but call-ahead service is recommended for items that CATNYP designates as OFFSITE, which require a minimum of one business day for retrieval.
