About the NYPL Digital Yizkor Book Viewer
Blank Screen
The NYPL Digital Yizkor Book Viewer delivers exact facsimiles of the original
volumes, presenting the entire book from cover to cover—literally.
This means that the first image for any given book will be the front cover
(possibly blank), followed by a succession of endpapers, fly-leaves and
other blanks, before the substance of the book is finally reached. Don't
panic, therefore, if you find yourself confronted with a blank screen;
it means only that you are looking at the image of a blank page. Just keep
on clicking, as if turning successive pages, and all will be well.
Enlarge Image
All pages containing illustrative matter (about 20% of the pages in these
books) may be enlarged for enhanced visibility, often becoming much more
vivid than the printed original. A special attraction of the NYPL digital
book viewer, the Enlarge Image feature requires installation of the ExpressView
browser plug-in, a free download that takes only a few clicks and a
few seconds to install. If you do not install ExpressView, you will not
be able to enlarge images. By installing the plug-in, however, you will
gain access to full-screen enlargements and to the ExpressView toolbar,
with the following navigation options:
