A yearly survey of developments in the field. Includes an author and subject
index.
Contemporary Psychology: A Journal of Reviews (Washington,
D.C.: American Psychological Association, 1956- ). *ZAN-3068 (current
issues in Room 108). A monthly journal providing critical reviews of English
language material relevant to the field. However, there is about a one year
review lag. There is also an annual author/reviewer index.
Psychological Abstracts (Arlington, VA: American Psychological
Association, 1927- , v.1- ). *RS-YEA. An extremely important index
to journal articles and technical reports, with an abstract of each cited
item. Monthly updates.
PsycINFO (Arlington, VA: American Psychological Association,
1967- ). An online "equivalent" to Psychological Abstracts, covering
journals, technical reports, and dissertations in English and non-English
languages. Available through the Research Library on a cost recovery fee
basis. Inquire with the librarians in Room 315 for this service.
PsycLIT (Arlington, VA: American Psychological Association,
1974- ). A CD-Rom product available on all networked terminals in the Public
Catalog Room and the North Reading Room (enter "citations to articles
in scholarly journals..." and then enter "psychology"). Coverage
includes journals in both English and foreign languages.
Psychological Bulletin (Lancaster, PA: American Psychological
Association, 1904- ). *ZAN-3048 (current issues in Room 108). A monthly
journal of review articles.
Psychological Index, 1894-1935, An Annual Bibliography of the Literature
of Psychology and Cognate Subjects (Princeton: Psychological Review
Co.). *RS-YEA. The predecessor to Psychological Abstracts,
it covers the field in its important, formative stages. Lists original language
publications along with relevant translations.
Thesaurus of Psychological Index Terms, 6th edition
(Arlington, VA: American Psycholgical Association, 1991). *R-YED 91-7479.
A list of 3,000 potential indexing terms, including a rotated alphabetical
terms section, which provides the current standardized lexicon for the field.
