Book Reviews: A Research Guide
Book reviews provide summaries, contemporary criticism, and succinct evaluations about published works. Reviews normally appear within a year of the date of publication; if this date is not known, it can often be ascertained by searching the Dictionary Catalog of the Research Libraries of the New York Public Library, which lists pre-1972 acquisitions, or CATNYP, the computer catalog which records acquistions from 1972 to the present. If these two sources are unable to provide the desired information, speak to a librarian at the Information Desk. If you need further assistance, visit our reference desk, or e-mail us at grdref@nypl.org |
