Ludlam
Charles Ludlam, photographed by Leandro Katz, 1971.

Off-Broadway theatre is the home of experimentation and virtuosity. Charles Ludlam was a theatrical anarchist whose Ridiculous Theatrical Company developed into one of the most consistently experimental companies of the late 1960s through 1970s. This exhibit comprises 67 photographs by Argentinian filmmaker and artist Leandro Katz, who documented Ludlam's productions. Ludlam's papers, scripts and notebooks are housed in the Library's Billy Rose Theatre Collection.
