The librarians at the Science, Industry and Business Library provide an instruction
program that includes public training and customized training for groups
by request.
To request instruction for your class, group, or business, please fill out
the form, or call 212-592-7024 to speak to SIBL’s Training Coordinator.
Please request a group training session 2-4 weeks in advance, and include
alternate dates.
Customized training may be based on an existing class or
may focus on electronic resources and collections customized to your group.
Teachers may request a class customized to their students’ research
assignment.
Classes are given in the Elizabeth and Felix Rohatyn Electronic Information
Center. Training rooms are equipped 15 computers and LCD projection. Instructors
or group leaders must be present during training.
Classes are 60 to 90 minutes. Research time in a classroom may be available
after the session. Evening sessions are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays
or Thursdays, and end at 7:30 pm.
You will be contacted about your request within 3-4 business days. Phone
inquiries about group training may be made by calling the Training Coordinator
