The New York Public Library’s 125th Street Library To Close Through Winter For Building Improvements

The New York Public Library is upgrading safety and temperature control functions at the 125th Street Library as part of continuing efforts to improve local branches. To facilitate these important improvements, the branch will be closed for several months through late winter, beginning October 1.

The building will receive upgrades for the heating and cooling of the library, as well the ventilation system. Upgrades will also be made to the fire detection and prevention system. 

While construction is being done, patrons of 125th Street Library can use the Library’s Aguilar location at 174 East 110th Street or its Harlem location at 9 W 124th St. All items on hold at 125th Street Library will be delivered to the Harlem Library beginning October 1st until the renovation is completed.
