The New York Public Library’s 96th Street Library Re-Opens Following Building Improvements

The New York Public Library’s 96th Street Library re-opened on Monday afternoon, following upgrades to safety and temperature control functions. The branch resumes regular hours of operation on Tuesday. 


The Library received new equipment needed for the heating and cooling was installed at  the library – such as air conditioning units, the boiler, hot water pumps and piping - as well as a new, web-based temperature control system. Upgrades were also made to the fire detection and prevention system.


The Library - located at 112 East 96th Street (near Lexington Avenue) - is open six days a week; 10am to 7pm Monday through Thursday and 10am to 5pm Friday and Saturday.
