This summer, the Academy of American Poets continues its tradition of free summer poetry readings with a diverse lineup of award-winning poets sharing their work at iconic New York City locales—including the Library's landmark Stephen A. Schwarzman Building. As a special treat, each poet will begin their reading with a work they’ve selected from NYPL's Henry W. and Albert A. Berg Collection of English and American Literature. During the events you can view digital copies of these original drafts by American poets, such as James Merrill, Frank O’ Hara, and Sylvia Plath.
