California art icon Ed Ruscha, famed for his stark paintings of desolate gas stations and floating phrases like “PAY NOTHING UNTIL APRIL” and “HOLLYWOOD IS A VERB,” and the Gagosian Gallery (which is concurrently exhibiting “Ed Ruscha: Books & Co.”) are part of the New York Public Library’s “LIVE from the NYPL” series.
