The New York Public Library system will be closed on Monday, Oct. 29 because of Hurricane Sandy.

Fines will be waived on all items due that day; those materials should be returned when the Library system reopens. Patrons should watch nypl.org for the latest information on closings. It should be noted that library card holders can still download free NYPL eBooks from the safety of their homes during the storm at http://ebooks.nypl.org.

Members of the media who need more information can contact PR and Marketing Director Angela Montefinise at angelamontefinise@nypl.org.
