Battery Park City Library Opening a Hit

Judging by the number of strollers in the foyer, our grand opening of the Battery Park City Library was a huge success. Highlights of the celebration included the ribbon-cutting with President LeClerc, New York City elected officials, and kids from the Battery Park City Day Nursery. The new 10,000-square-foot, two-story branch located at 175 North End Avenue, is our first green library in Manhattan and houses a collection of 24,000 items, offers Internet access on 36 computers, and features separate reading areas for children, young adults, and adults. Library Manager Billy Parrot and his team are looking forward to your visit.
