Performer Tyler Hilton Appears September 1 in Free Concert and Discussion at The New York Public Library's Teen Central

Singer and actor Tyler Hilton will appear September 1, in a free program, "Tyler Talks Books, Tyler Talks Music!" presented by Nathan Straus Teen Central in The New York Public Library's Donnell Library Center. Hilton, frequently seen on the television series "One Tree Hill," is currently on tour as an opening act for singer Hilary Duff. He is an advocate for literacy among young adults, and during the library program will discuss his favorite books, answer questions from the audience, and perform a short acoustic musical set. The program will be held in the Donnell's Library Center's Auditorium at 20 West 53rd Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues at 12 p.m.

Tyler Hilton has had an interest in entertainment since childhood. He practiced singing Elvis songs with family members while growing up in Palm Springs, California, and as a teenager would sing at local cafes' open mic sessions. Hilton continued to perform locally, until he was discovered and signed to the Maverick Records label. In 2004, he released his first album The Tracks Of... and began playing the role of Chris Keller on television's "One Tree Hill." Tyler Hilton will make the jump to the big screen portraying his childhood idol, Elvis Presley, in the upcoming Fox film Walk the Line due out November 2005.
