Thursday, August 19
11:45 a.m.: Make Noise for the Library Launch
Join Library President Dr. Paul LeClerc and an enthusiastically audible host
of exotic percussionists, dancers, and musicians (including The Saw Lady!) along
with poet Bob Holman to Make Noise for the Library on and around the
steps of The New York Public Library at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street. Kazoos,
clackers and whistles will be provided to help the public let loose, raise a
ruckus and the roof.

Zelinsky. 4:00 p.m.: Bloomingdale's Family Reading Series. Guest author: Don Brown All Bloomingdale's Family Reading Series events will take place in the children's

Irresistibly Ironic" at SIBL. The New York Public Library's Science, Industry
and Business Library presents Barry Hoffman, a Managing Partner and Executive
Creative Director at Young & Rubicam, who has written numerous award-winning
ads and television commer cials. He will discuss his book about the relationship
between art and advertising. Presented in honor of the first Advertising Week
in New York City, September 20 to 24, inaugurated by the American Association
of Advertising Agencies.
