A small sampling of some of the thousands of maps from the 1600s to the present of New York City and the vicinity from the Map Division, Humanities & Social Sciences Library, Fifth Avenue & 42nd Street. The collection includes original maps, sheet maps and atlases documenting the growing and changing city. Property maps, especially Bromley, Hyde, Perris, REDI, Robinson, and Sanborn maps at the block and lot level from the 1850s to the present can also be found here. Topographic maps, nautical charts, and geologic folios are also included in the Map Division.

Additional New York City maps can be found in American Shores: Maps of the Middle Atlantic Region to 1850, which contains more than 2,000 original historical maps ranging from New York to Virginia, document a pivotal area in the early development of the American colonies and the United States.
