Professional Development

The New York Public Library offers all staff a wide range of training and development opportunities. In addition to critical job skills our curriculum includes topics designed to develop you both professionally and personally. Communication skills, Leadership and Management Skills, Work/Life Balance, Microsoft Office programs, and Social Media Technologies, are among the many subjects featured throughout the year. Presentations by leaders from the library world and beyond on trends and innovations are regularly offered to keep staff up to date with the world around us. To accommodate multiple learning styles classes are offered both in a traditional classroom setting, and online through a catalog of classes that can be accessed at any time.
