Eligibility: In order to be eligible, at the time of the drawings, you must be the then current Foursquare Mayor for one of The New York Public Library venues (“Library Venues”) (see list of eligible venues below), link to your Twitter account on your Foursquare profile page, be a legal resident of the Tri-State Area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut) and be 18 years of age or older. Employees of The New York Public Library, Astor, Lenox and Tilden Foundations ("NYPL"), its Board of Trustees, officers, agents and employees and their family/household members (defined as parents, spouse, children, siblings, grandparents) are not eligible to enter. Void where prohibited by law.
Start/End Dates: Drawings will be held on January 27, 2012, March 30, 2012, April 13, 2012, and May 18, 2012.
Drawings: Winners will be selected in random drawings from all eligible Library Venues using random.org. NYPL is not responsible for random.org’s processes or formulas. Foursquare Mayors agree to be bound by these rules and the decisions of NYPL, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to the drawings. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible Library Venues. Potential winners will be announced on the Library’s @nypl Twitter feed on or about the day of each drawing. Each Foursquare Mayor selected as a potential winner must comply with all terms and conditions set forth in these rules, and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all such requirements.
Prizes: The following prize will be awarded: two tickets to a LIVE from the NYPL event selected by NYPL. Approximate retail value of each ticket is $25. The monthly drawing for a pair of tickets to a LIVE from the NYPL event is subject to LIVE's event schedule. NYPL makes no warranties with regard to LIVE from the NYPL events. The tickets are not transferable. No substitutions of tickets are allowed by winners, but NYPL reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value due to ticket unavailability. Tickets are not redeemable by winners for cash value. All taxes, fees and surcharges on prize are the sole responsibility of winners.
Forfeiture: If a winner does not contact NYPL within three business days of the first announcement of the winning Library Venue, if a winner is under the age of 18, or in the event of noncompliance with the drawings' rules and requirements, such prize will be forfeited. Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given.
Conditions: NYPL will have the right to photograph, videotape, and interview the winners. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to use a winner’s name, picture, likeness, and city and state of residence for purposes of trade, publicity or promotion for no additional compensation except where prohibited by law. By participating in the drawings, winners agree to release and hold harmless NYPL, and its respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotions agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors, from any and all liability, for loss, harm, damage, injury, cost or expense whatsoever including without limitation, property damage, personal injury and/or death which may occur in connection with, preparation for, travel to, or participation in drawings, or possession, acceptance and/or use or misuse of prize or participation in any drawing-related activity and for any claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy and merchandise delivery.
Governing Law: Any disputes that may arise hereunder shall be governed in all respects by the laws of the State of New York. Venue with respect to any such disputes shall be had in the state and federal courts of the State of New York.
