Centennial, Summer Reading Celebrations : NYPL Summer Reading Kick-off
What will be your summer story? Start it off with a fun filled day Thursday, June 9.
The morning kicks off with a performance by the KIPP Music Team, features speeches from special guests such as NYPL President Dr. Paul LeClerc, NYC School Chancellor Dennis Walcott, elected officials, and past top summer readers, and closes with an exciting performance sure to inspire and thrill.
Be sure to check out the programs happening for the rest of the day, including:
12 noon — Abracadabra Magic Show
1 p.m. — Face painting and balloon sculptures, featuring the talented performers from Big Apple Circus.
2 p.m. — Arts and Crafts for children
2 p.m. — Manga drawing for teens with manga artist Ivan Velez
4:30 p.m. — Traditional Mexican Dance demonstration by Annabella Gonzales Dance Company
