SCORE Business Counseling

SCORE provides free, in-depth business counseling for business owners and small businesses. SCORE provides assistance with starting a business, writing a business plan, and helps successful firms in planning for expansion. Score is a volunteer, non-profit association affiliated with the Small Business Administration.  Score has a branch office onsite at SIBL, Business Library, with a main office downtown at Federal Plaza. (see other locations below).

Bag Check Policy

For the safety of the customers and staff of the Library, and to ensure unimpeded access to the collections, the Science, Industry and Business Library has placed limits on the size of carts, boxes, bags, and other packages.

Computers for Public Use

Internet and word processing computers are provided on both levels of SIBL: the street level, in the Dorothy and Lewis Cullman Reading Room, and the lower level, in the Elizabeth and Felix Rohatyn EIC, and in Job Search Central (Quade room) for job seekers.

Copy Services (On-site)

Self-service photocopiers are located in the Cullman Reading Room on the street level and near the librarians at the far end of the Altman Desk on the lower level. Staff-assisted quick copies may be ordered at the Copy Services desk near the stairway on the lower level. Some Science, Industry and Business Library materials may not be copied or may be copied only by Library staff at the Copy Services desk if they are in fragile condition. Self-service microform reader/printers are located near the Altman Desk. Networked printing from computer workstations is available on the street and

Document Delivery & Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan provides access to library materials that are not available in the New York metropolitan area through agreements with libraries throughout the country. Read More ›

Laptop Docking

The Science, Industry and Business Library of The New York Public Library provides Wi-FI wireless internet access and also wired docking stations where users can connect laptops to the Internet and to many electronic subscription databases. Docking stations are provided in the Salomon Reading Room on the lower level. Connection speed is up to 100,000 megabits per second using a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet card. No reservations are required.

Small Group Meeting Room Request Form

Small meeting rooms are available free at the SIBL library for groups of 2-10 people working on a business project. Time slots are 1 or 2 hours, and Wi-fi is available. Please note meeting room times start on the hour.
