Accion East provides loans and other support services to businesses throughout New York City's five boroughs, Long Island, Westchester and New Jersey. Loans of $500 - $50,000 are made to individuals or to groups of borrowers at every stage in their business, and can be used for equipment, merchandise, working capital, business expansion and more. All types of businesses are eligible for loans, including home-based ones. Service in Spanish is available.
The Corporation has a number of economic development programs focusing on employment solutions; commercial revitalization, commercial leasing and rentals, financial and business education; and youth employment and education.
BO$$ is a microloan program that makes funds available to start-ups and existing businesses in northern Manhattan and the western Bronx with fewer than ten employees, and annual sales of less than $500,000. BO$$ focuses on helping micro-entrepreneurs with limited education, English language, and business expertise. BO$$ Micro Loans range from $400 to $50,000, with an interest rate currently at 9.0% annually. BO$$ also offers one-on-one business counseling, business plan review, and referrals. As a multi-service agency working with government agencies, educational institutions, and the private sector, BEDC offers comprehensive business consulting and economic development services. BEDC offers technical assistance, financial assistance, location assistance, and entrepreneur training programs for start-up and early-stage entrepreneurs.
The Business Initiative Corporation of New York[BIC] administers the SBA 504 Loan Program. BIC works with the SBA and with private lenders to provide financing to small businesses, focusing on all industries and sectors comprising the NYS economy - industrial, commercial, manufacturers, and service industries. For profit organizations, partnerships, proprietorships, and LLC's are eligible. Minimum loan amount is $50,000; maximum is $5,000,000 - $5.5 million in priority areas. CAMBA Small Business Services (CSBS) promotes economic revitalization by providing services specially tailored to the needs of entrepreneurs in Brooklyn. CSBS offers FREE one-on-one counseling, entrepreneurial training and technical assistance, microloans, and linkages with other business development partners.
