The Brooklyn Navy Yard is a 300-acre 3.5 million square foot industrial park on the waterfront, currently housing aound 250 small and medium-sized businesses. It offers reasonable rents for prime city real estate ranging from $8 to $20 a square foot, in spaces from 500 to 100,000 square feet. Available spaces are in well-maintained, single and multi-storied buildings with elevator accessibility. Benefits include: self-contained business community with 24-hour security; NY State Empire Zone tax abatements; and an Employment Center to help business find qualified employees.

Affiliated with the Business Outreach Center [BOC] Network and sponsored by the Greater Newark Enterprises Corporation, the Greater Newark Business Outreach Center [BOC] offers a variety of services to small business owners and to entrepreneurs. These services include business plan development, access to financing, marketing, import / export information, entrepreneurial training and licensing and permit information. EWVIDCO serves industrial businesses located in Williamsburg, Greenpoint, and Bushwick. It offers general business development assistance; real estate, financing; ombudsman services; and employment job training and placement services through its affiliate Williamsburg Works. EWVIDCO manages the NYC North Brooklyn Industrial Business Zone and the Greenpoint-Williamsburg Industrial Business Zones, Williamsburg Valley In-Place Industrial Park, listed separately, and the NYS North Brooklyn / Brooklyn Navy Yard Empire Zone.
Southwest Brooklyn IDC's current programs are focused business development in Sunset Park, Red Hook, and Gowanus. We administer the Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Business Zones (IBZ) and the Southwest Brooklyn Empire Zone. The Fifth Avenue Committee, Inc. [FAC] is a community organization in South Brooklyn that advances economic and social justice by building vibrant, diverse communities where residents have genuine opportunities to achieve their goals, as well as the power to shape the community's future.

FAC is a nationally recognized non profit community development corporation formed in 1978 that works to transform the lives of over 5,000 low- and moderare-income New Yorkers annually so that we can all live and work with dignity and respect while making our community more equitable, sustainable, inclusive and just.

To achieve its mission, Fifth avenue Committee develops and manages affordable housing and community facilities, creates economic opportunities and ensures access to economic stability, organizes residents and workers, offers student-centered adult education and combats displacement caused by gentrification.
