Small Business Services Directory
The Baruch SBDC offers free one-on-one counseling and training on all aspects of starting and operating a business. Together with the Field Center for Entrepreneurship within which it is located, certified business counselors and Baruch business school professors provide assistance with a wide range of business challenges. These challenges include the creation of a focused business plan, selecting funding alternatives, understanding financial statements, developing marketing plans, planning an on-line business, and complying with licensing and regulatory requirements. MBA students can provide technical assistance. Note: There are other SBDCs within NYCs five boroughs.
This SBDC offers free individualized counseling, specializing in start-ups and expansions. Services include assistance with business plans, marketing plans, financial planning and loan packaging. Also offered are topical workshops on a variety of business related issues, including marketing, franchising and exporting. Note: There are other SBDCs throughout the City. Services include: financial analysis, loan evaluation and packaging, management analysis, business plan development and export assistance. Business seminars and workshops are offered regularly. The Pace University Small Business Development Center specializes in providing, free of charge, one-on-one counseling to existing businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs. This counseling focuses on the development of superior business plans and locating appropriate sources of funding to put the clients' enterprises on a sound financial basis. SoBRO is a not-for-profit organization offering services designed to: Provide education, work readiness and employment programs for adults; Provide existing and newly established businesses with technical assistance, programs and services designed to enhance their ability to compete in the marketplace; and Engage in pro-active community assessment, planning and advocacy in order to strengthen the local economic environment.
