NYC Business Solutions is a suite of services offered by the New York City Department of Small Business Services. We can help your business start, operate, and expand in New York City. Our services are provided at no cost regardless of the size or stage of your business.
The Center's goal is to improve NY City's approach to serving small businesses and entrepreneurs. Partnering with local development organizations in each borough permits the Department of Small Business Services [SBS] and the Center to offer small businesses easy access to a full range of city and private services not previously available from a single location.

The Upper Manhattan Business Solutions helps the business community of New York City find efficient solutions to common business problems. NYC Business Solutions offers free, quick, and reliable information on: starting a business; working with government regulations; securing financing; hiring and training employees; finding real estate; accessing incentives; selling to the government; obtaining Minority and Women-Owned Business Certification; and coping with emergencies.

NYC  WasteMatch is a free service, created and funded by the NYC Department of Sanitation, which facilitates the exchange of used and surplus goods and equipment from organizations that no longer need them to other entities that do.

NYC WasteMatch keeps valuable resources out of the waste stream while offering clients an opportunity to save money and lower their environmental impact. Our clients include New York City businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies.

The Pratt Area Community Council (PACC), a community-based organizaton, is focused on facilitating the economic well-being of the Fort Greene, Clinton Hill and Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhoods. PACC's Economic Development department works closely with local Merchants Associations, elected officials and community organizations in Central Brooklyn. Their current Economic Development priorities include spearheading the Fulton Street Business Improvement District (BID) and serving as the Local Program Administrator (LPA) of the Main Street Program, which focuses on improving a seven-block stretch of Fulton Street between Grant and Bedford Avenues. The Fulton Street Business Improvement District (BID) promises to make powerful and sustainable improvements in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. The BID would extend from Rockwell Place to Classon Avenue and all streets facing Fulton Street (Lafayette, Greene and Putnam Avenues).

The Queens Air Services Development Office (ASDO), a nonprofit organization, helps Queens businesses procure contracts with the aviation industry at both JFK and LaGuardia Airports. It maintains a computerized vendor directory and sponsors networking events bringing together the aviation industry, government agencies and prime contractors to meet with Queens vendors and service suppliers. ASDO is funded by the Port Authority of NY and NJ and their airline partners  and administered by the Aviation Development Council. All services are free of charge.

The mission of the Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC) is to create and retain jobs through programming that stabilizes neighborhoods, assists small businesses and promotes tourism and business development. The Queens EDC is a non profit corporation governed by a board of directors representing the many community and business sectors. It is a focal point for economic development efforts in a Borough that encompasses 2.3 million people from every corner of the world. Since 1977 the QEDC has worked with scores of neighborhoods to revitalize their commercial districts by the creation of business organizations and the establishment of business improvement districts. The Entreprenurial Assistance Program (EAP) and the Women
Workforce1 Career Centers are a one-stop shop for employers and jobseekers. Services to businesses may include human resources consulting, job-candidate screening and customized training for employees. For jobseekers services include resume and interview preparation, job-search coaching and access to educational and training opportunities. The Refugee Microenterprise Development Program helps eligible refugees and asylum-seekers start and expand small businesses throughout New York City. The program is designed for individuals with special immigration status, including eligible refugees and asylum-seekers, as well as Cuban and Haitian entrants, eligible Ameriasians from Vietnam, and lawful permanent residents who have previously held one of these statuses. The program offers short- and long-term entrepreneurial training, one-on-one business counseling, and access to micro-loans of up to $25,000. Services are delivered by culturally appropriate staff in the languages of the communities served.
