GIDC is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the apparel industry.Over the past twenty years, GIDC has evolved into a multi-tiered service organization providing marketing, buyer referrals, and training and technical assistance to New York apparel manufacturers and workers. GIDC programs offering assistance to management and production personnel include:
* Matchmaking service linking brands, retailers and start-up designers with appropriate local factories
* Information and referrals regarding public and private incentive programs for local manufacturers
* Job referral and placement service
* On-site technical assistance with management and engineering issues such as quality control, health and safety, and organization of production
* Factory floor and classroom training for worker skills improvement (manual and computer) in both the product development and production phases
The Office of Government and General Contracting's mission is to help enhance the effectiveness of small business programs by working with Government Contracting and Business Development (GC/BD) program offices and others to develop policies, regulations, and statutory changes. GCBD helps small businesses achieve success by providing information and procurement assistance. It administers a number of programs that focus on specific business needs: SBIR/STTR Technology; Goaling; Tech-Net; and Sub-Net.
The Graphic Artists Guild is a national labor union that promotes and protects the economic interests of its members. The Guild publishes the popular title, Handbook: Pricing & Ethical Guidelines. The Guild may also be reached at 212-791-3400.

Workforce1 Career Centers are a one-stop shop for employers and jobseekers. Services to businesses may include human resources consulting, job-candidate screening and customized training for employees. For jobseekers services include resume and interview preparation, job-search coaching and access to educational and training opportunities. The Industrial and Commercial Abatement Program [ICAP] provides abatements for real property taxes for varying periods up to 25 years. Eligible industrial and commercial buildings must be built, modernized, expanded, or otherwise physically improved.
NYC Industrial Development Assistance programs provide companies with access to triple tax-exempt bond financing or tax benefits to acquire or create capital assets, such as purchasing real estate, constructing or renovating facilities, and acquiring new equipment. NYCIDA can offer expertise in a variety of bond programs, incentive programs and negotiated incentives.
A city, state, and federally-supported economic development and consulting organization. ITAC is a 21 year old company that has provided productivity, profitability and growth solutions to over 2000 New York City manufacturing and technology companies. ITAC's mission is to help companies start, stay and thrive in the five boroughs. ITAC's Technology Practice assists with product development and launch, finding additional funding, business plan development, and enabling partnerships with academic institutions. ITAC's Virtual Incubator Program (VIP) helps early stage manufacturers and technology firms to bring their products and processes to the next level. We also assist mature manufacturing firms to adopt technologis for their businesses, both off the shelf applications and new applications developed from existing technology.
