Moore Street Market is one of Brooklyn’s oldest indoor markets serving East Williamsburg and the surrounding neighborhoods for close to 70 years. The 15,000 square foot Market in the Graham Avenue shopping district also offers events throughout the year such as seminars for small businesses. Moore Street Market provides a nurturing environment that facilitates small business growth, and the creation and retention of job opportunities. The Neighborhood Entrepreneur Law Project (NELP) is a project of the City Bar Justice Center, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit affiliate of the New York City Bar Association. NELP provides free legal assistance to low and moderate incomes entrepreneurs who own or are starting up a small business in New York City. NELP utilizes volunteer attorneys, who staff legal clinics, give presentations, and take on pro bono cases, to provide assistance on issues such as: determining the best legal structure for a business, incorporating, drafting and reviewing contracts, negotiating commercial leases, and obtaining trademark and copyright protections. The New York & New Jersey Minority Supplier Development Council [The Council™] links certified minority suppliers with Council member (comprised of buying entities from corporations, government agencies, educational institutions and non-profit organizations) through a database of these suppliers and networking events to showcase their products and services. It also offers seminars for minority-owned firms on various business topics and training for corporations on supplier diversity initiatives and promoting the business case for inclusion. The certification and annual re-certification (renewal) is on a sliding scale, from $225.00 - $1,000.00 based on gross revenues for initial certification and $225.00 - $725.00 annually for renewals. The Council is an affiliate of The National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC).
