Registration is required for consultation of materials in the Art and Artifacts Division, Manuscripts, Archives and Rare Books Division and the Photographs and Prints Division.

There are no self-service photocopiers at the Schomburg Center; photocopying in all of the divisions of the Schomburg Center is mediated by staff. This helps to maintain the condition of research materials which are often both rare and fragile. The cost for copies varies in each division. Printing from computer workstations is available in the General Research and Reference Division only.
