Tribute to Elizabeth Catlett: Honor, Courage and Creativity
February 22, 2013
Program Locations:
Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, Langston Hughes Auditorium
The National Conference of Artists (NCA), in collaboration with the Schomburg Center, celebrates Elizabeth Catlett (April 15, 1915 – April 2, 2012), a respected and treasured member of NCA. Catlett’s abstract sculptures of the human form reflected her deep concern about the African-American experience and the struggle for Civil Rights.
