First Fridays at the Schomburg

Start the new month with First Fridays at the Schomburg, a popular monthly social gathering that welcomes the community with great music and drinks. Enjoy extended hours in our galleries and explore our exhibitions.Join us the first friday of the month, all summer long.

Calling all HBCU graduates and others: This First Fridays is our HBCU Edition, hosted by the Florida A&M University New York Alumni Association, to garner the support of our Historically Black Colleges & Universities Alumni who reside here in New York. 

 

Our DJ for the night is Trinidad native and Brooklyn resident Mursi Layne, who is not only a crowd pleasing self-taught deejay, but also the co-founder of The Architects, a boutique production company. She spins an array of music to include hip-hop, club, reggae, soca, electronic, classics.
