Before 5: The New York (Chicago Style) Steppers
January 23, 2013
Program Locations:
Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, American Negro Theatre
IIf you like the rhythmic styles, such as the hustle, salsa, ballroom, or just love to dance, then join the New York Steppers for lessons on Chicago Style Steppin’. Steppin’ is a couple’s dance that has its roots in Chicago and was introduced to a worldwide audience by R. Kelly’s “Step In The Name of Love” Video. There are Steppin’ “Sets” in many major cities around the country and they are growing in the Northeast area. Join the New York and New Jersey “Chicago Style” Steppers as they show you some smooth Steppin’. There will be a demonstration, a lesson in the basics and Q&A session.
