Films at the Schomburg: Slavery by Another Name

November 10, 2012

Program Locations:

Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, Langston Hughes Auditorium

Slavery by Another Name challenges one of our country's most cherished assumptions: the belief that slavery ended with Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation of 1863. The film was directed by Sam Pollard, produced by Catherine Allan and Douglas Blackmon and written by Sheila Curran Bernard. A talk back with Sam Pollard will follow the screening.
