Brooklyn-based violinist Emma Sky will be performing a variety of classical, contemporary, and original string compositions.

Emma SkyEmma SkyEmma Sky is the daughter of a singer-songwriter and jazz musucian, and has been immersed in music since birth. After nine years of playing the violin privately and in school, Emma studied music performance on classical violin at the University of Vermont. Since receiving her B.A. in Music, she has been teaching the violin, theory, compostion, and ear training to students of all ages. She’s even developed her own general music class for the Brooklyn Brainery, called The Heart of Music. Though she’s a native Vermonter, she currently lives in Brooklyn where she’s exploring and creating new musical landscapes. Emma’s dropped her violin’s sounds into everything from hip-hop and jams, to North-Eastern folk and new original work. “Variety in my music motivates me. That and my students. They’re amazing.”
