Film Screening – Naqoyqatsi by Godfrey Reggio
Saturday May 4th @ 11am
In conjunction with the New Museum’s IDEAS CITY festival, we will be screening Godfrey Reggio’s moving film, the third in the ‘qatsi’ trilogy. Naqoyqatsi bears as its title the Hopi word meaning “life as war.” Using stunning time-lapse cinematography along with a score by composer Philip Glass (featuring Yo-Yo Ma), the director focuses his lens on the technology revolution and provides a provocative look at the use and misuse of the Earth’s resources. Please join us for the screening, which will be followed by a brief discussion of the film.
