Leslea Newman visits The New York Public Library to speak about her latest project, October Mourning: A Song for Matthew Shepard. This novel in verse explores the night of October 6, 1998, and the impact it had on the community and the nation. Through 68 poems, readers experience Laramie in a new light and observe the transformations that happen through the written word.
