Author @ the Library: Discovering Vintage New York: A Guide to the City's Timeless Shops, Bars, Delis & More

October 3, 2013

Program Locations:

Mid-Manhattan Library

With Mitch Broder, a journalist who spent 20 years writing about Manhattan for Gannett Newspapers, the nation’s largest newspaper chain.

This illustrated lecture, based on the new book, takes the audience to the city’s treasured classics.  The book is the first and only guide to all of Manhattan’s vintage spots — from the Café Carlyle to Papaya King, from The Four Seasons to Serendipity 3, from Gallagher’s Steak House to the House of Oldies, from the Old Town Bar to The Donut Pub.  All of the places featured are at least half a century old — and all of them evoke a bygone metropolis.
