June 2013 — Father Brown v. Sherlock Homes, Dueling Detectives
The Sign of the Broken Sword by G. K. Chesterton
Father Brown takes Flambeau on a pilgrimage to the tomb of internationally revered war hero General Sir Arthur St. Clare. The general died in battle in Brazil, and part of the monument, lying next to the statue of the general, is a broken sword, the way it was found at the end of his last battle. No one knows the real story behind how the sword was broken, except Father Brown.
Other June Story Time PM Dates - June 24
Silver Blaze by Arthur Conan Doyle
Watson is not surprised when Sherlock Holmes is asked to investigate the mystery that all England is talking about. Silver Blaze, the horse favored to win the Wessex Cup next week, has disappeared, and his trainer John Straker has been murdered.
