Polar vortex got you down? Come heat things up with some of NYC's hottest erotic romance authors! These ladies will be discussing the nitty-gritty of writing sizzling hot romance. 

Alyssa Cole (moderator) is a Brooklyn-based science editor, pop culture nerd, and romance junkie. In addition to writing, she hosts a Romance Book Club and teaches romance writing at the Jefferson Market Library. When she's not busy traveling, learning French, and, of course, writing, she can be found curled up in bed with her favorite books, Skyping with her fiancé, and watching cat videos on the Internet.

 

PANELISTS

Jamie Brenner is the author of The Gin Lovers (St. Martin’s Press), selected by Fresh Fiction as one of the Top Thirteen Books to read in 2013 and praised by San Francisco Book Review as “pure delight.” Her upcoming novel Ruin Me (St. Martin’s Press) will publish May 6. Writing under the name Logan Belle, she is the author of the erotic romances Miss Chatterley; The Librarian (translated into a dozen languages) and the trilogy Blue Angel. Katana Collins splits her time evenly between photographing boudoir portraits and writing steam-your-glasses romances. Between navigating life as a small business owner, a first-time homeowner, and a newlywed, Kat is in a constant state of "OHMYGODINEEDCOFFEENOW." She lives in Brooklyn with her comic book artist husband and ever-growing family of rescue animals. Lise Horton has spent many years living and working in Manhattan. Prior to embarking on a career writing erotica and erotic romance, she was a theatrical performer and award winning cabaret vocalist. Her jobs have ranged from apprentice diamond grader to bartender to her current “day job”where she is a legal secretary at a prominent NYC entertainment law firm. She mines her experiences to craft steamy romance stories set in the Big Apple. A past president of the NYC Chapter of Romance Writers of America, and frequent workshop presenter, Lise is published in short erotic romance fiction and her debut novel Words of Lust was released in September 2013 by Carina Press. Her erotica short, “My Master’s Mark” is included in the Cleis Press anthology “Slave Girls” edited by D. L. King, scheduled for release in Spring 2014. She believes no matter how kinky, love needs a happy ending. 

Isabo Kelly is the award-winning author of numerous science fiction, fantasy, and paranormal romances. Her life has taken her from Las Vegas to Hawaii, where she got her BA in Zoology, back to Vegas where she looked after sharks, then on to Germany and Ireland where she got her Ph.D. in Animal Behavior. Now Isabo focuses on writing. She lives in New York with her Irish husband, two beautiful boys, and funny dog. She works as a full time author and stay-at-home mom. Kate McMurray has been writing stories since she could hold a pen. She picked up her first romance novel when she was thirteen and has loved the genre ever since. She started writing gay romance after reading a book and thinking there should be more love stories with gay characters. Her first published novel, In Hot Pursuit,came out in February 2010, and she’s been writing feverishly ever since, with nine published novels. She likes stories that are brainy, funny, and of course sexy, with regular guy characters and urban sensibilities. Suleikha Snyder, editor, writer, American desi and lifelong geek, published her first romantic short in 2011, going on to multiple releases in recent years — including three Bollywood romances from Samhain Publishing, Spice and Smoke, Spice and Secrets, and Bollywood and the Beast, and a short in Cleis Press' Suite Encounters anthology. These days, she's hard at work on more South Asian-themed romance and erotic romance.
