New York Veteran History Series: Vietnam
The Vietnam War radically changed how Americans view the military, returning veterans, and our political leadership. Nearly 40 years after the end of US military involvement in Vietnam our country is still making efforts to properly welcome our troops home from the war.
Join NYC veterans of the Vietnam War for a panel discussion about the stories that have come to dominate the way we think about them, and the personal narratives that may help to dispel some of the myths that surround them.
This panel will be moderated by Philip F. Napoli, author of Bringing It All Back Home: An Oral History of New York City's Vietnam Veterans.
Panelists will be Earl Jacobson, Everett Cox, Herbert Sweat and Joan Furey.
A representative from Worforce1 will be present before the event to discuss resources for both veterans and civilians who are navigating the job search. Single Stop materials for veterans and their families will also be available.
This panel is free and open to the public.
