Based on Anne Holm’s 1952 novel “North to Freedom” this film tell the story of 12-year-old David who has lived his whole life in a concentration camp. With help from a fellow inmate and instructions to carry a mysterious letter to Denmark, David escapes and sets off on his own in a journey across Europe that will challenge his mind and his spirit. David must lose his inherent distrust of people to be able to finally participate in the pleasures of life and allow people to help him in his quest for freedom.
