The Bill Blass Public Catalog Room—renamed in 1994 to recognize a generous gift from the fashion designer, Library trustee, and longtime benefactor—is where many creative and research projects take their first, tentative steps.

To locate books and other material readers will find numerous computer workstations providing access to the Catalog, hundreds of electronic resources, and many reference titles and dictionary and subject catalogs.

Readers seeking research materials can start in the Catalog Room to locate books, periodicals, electronic resources, and audio-visual material. Librarians stationed at the main reference desk help patrons use the Catalog, suggest approaches to specific research projects, and answer general questions.  From the Public Catalog Room, readers enter the Deborah, Jonathan F. P, Samuel Priest, and Adam R. Rose Main Reading Room, where they request their desired materials.

If you have any questions about requesting General Research Division materials, please visit our Conducting Research page or Ask us a Question!
